Joachim Breuer is a German and international expert in all matters of social security. The doctor of law has made a name for himself through numerous publications in the health sector and as an editor of comments and manuals. He holds a professorship for insurance medicine in Lübeck. For many years he was the managing director of the German social accident insurance in Berlin. For decades he has been a leader in international consulting projects, e.g. for the development of social systems, reforms in the rehabilitation area, development of clinic structures, etc. As President of the UN-associated International Social Security Association, he represents social security systems in more than 160 countries to national governments and international organizations such as the World Bank, ILO and G 20.
