_draft a policy (§ 6 ii lksg)

draft a policy (§ 6 ii lksg).

The law obliges companies to draft a policy (§ 6 LkSG). Such a policy defines the expectations towards suppliers and employees. The policy statement must be openly communicated to them and made available to the public on the website.

Initially, a general commitment to human and environmental rights is sufficient. Further, this public commitment can be expanded by a specific and detailed value system (Code of Conduct).

The policy statement must describe how the minimum requirements from the Supply Chain Act are met, i.e. what strategy is pursued to deal with existing risks. In addition, the type and scope of risk analysis should be made clear, description of prevention and remediation measures, information on the type of report, and which complaint mechanisms are set up.

Step 5: Prevent risks within the company
