_weighting risks appropriately

In the supply chain, companies must take due diligence into account in a manner appropriate for them (§ 5 II LkSG). There is thus scope for discretion and action in how these due diligence obligations are implemented. Which risks are addressed, how, in what order and with what intensity depends on the specific company situation? Efforts about specific risks can and may vary in nature and power.
Important practical tip: Start with the products/services with the highest sales.
Other criteria for weighting are:
- the type and scope of the company's business activities
- the company's ability to influence the direct polluter
- the typical expected severity of the breach,
- the reversibility of the violation
- the probability
